Biography
Riccardo was born in Naples in the post-war years, in a vibrant and dynamic city full of energy and inspiration. His journey into photography began at the age of sixteen, when he was given his first camera, a moment that defined the course of his life. From then on, he never put it down.
Although photography was not initially his primary profession, Riccardo explored a wide range of styles and subjects. Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, he focused largely on fashion and portrait photography, developing a strong visual language and refined aesthetic. In the 2000s, his work became more exclusively dedicated to fashion, before gradually expanding again to include still life and elements of street photography, most notably what he defines as “beach life” in the early 2020s.
He works predominantly with fixed lenses and Canon cameras, embracing a philosophy rooted in essentialism. For Riccardo, stripping photography down to its core elements is the most powerful way to capture and communicate a moment or a situation.
